Addison, Texas (October 22, 2015)
Digital Matrix Systems, Inc. (DMS) today announced the availability of over 700 attributes that leverage trended data, bringing the total number of DMS Summary Attributes™ to over 3,100. These attributes deliver a new dimension of risk assessment when compared to the standard variables commonly used for decisioning.
The ability to predict consumer behavior at each stage of the customer lifecycle impacts both the management of risk as well as revenue potential. A “trended” view of the customer leverages credit data at specified points of time, including credit utilization, past balances, and payment history. These data points can help companies better tailor marketing offers in the acquisition stage, as well as assign or increase credit limits.
Is the applicant a “transactor” who pays off the balance of revolving tradelines every month, or a “revolver” who carries a balance from month to month? Does the applicant have the financial discipline to pay down a balance over time, or are they ramping debt up? Trended data attributes provide insight to these questions by delivering a history of tradeline balance information.
Trended data attributes are available from multiple credit bureaus and are also available for archives processed through DMS. When generated, these attributes can be included in the development and validation of new scoring models.
“Helping our clients effectively leverage new data to make better business decisions is what our team is passionate about. By adding trended data attributes, we’re able to not only help our clients reduce their risk exposure, but also improve their customer acquisition strategies,” said David Graves, executive vice president of DMS.
