Digital Matrix Systems, Inc. Helps Organizations Comply with Data Privacy Mandates

Addison, Texas (July 28, 2015)

In a continuing effort to keep clients’ information secure, Digital Matrix Systems, Inc. (DMS) today announced an enhancement to the anonymization process used in the company’s data access products. The process will work uniformly at the individual user-rights level across all three platforms.

Consumers and corporations alike are sensitive and vulnerable to inappropriate and potentially harmful uses of private, non-public information. Identity and sensitive data records must be protected while still providing a functional substitute for company personnel that need to leverage data but don’t need access to personally identifiable information. For example, an analytic user may need the ability to query a data warehouse to identify patterns that support their modeling efforts, while not needing access to the specific data.

The ability to mask or anonymize sensitive data in both data access tools and data warehouse environments reduces risk exposure and enables companies to effectively leverage data by authority level. DMS has employed user-level masking consistently across its data storage and access platforms in order to protect sensitive data such as social security number and date of birth:

  • CreditToolkit™ provides direct access to the major credit bureaus and specialized data sources using a client’s own communication lines.
  • CreditBrowser® is a web-based data access tool with self-administered security.
  • DMS Data Warehouse™ stores original data from credit bureaus and other specialized sources for risk managers and others who use historical data.

“We make continuous improvements to our entire solution portfolio to ensure that our clients have the tools to meet their customers’ expectations in terms of confidentiality and handling sensitive personal data. Our solutions enable the enforcement of internal security and regulatory compliance at the specific user level,” said David Graves, executive vice president of DMS.
